Word By Word Picture Dictionary page 98

Use of Internet English, www-based communication activities, prior to this lesson to acquire basic computer operation skills and terminology. Students have been introduced to how to use a web search engine.

Use the following questions and answers with a partner:

How's the weather?
It's cloudy and cold.

What's the weather forecast?
There's going to be lightning/ a thunderstorm.

What's the temperature?
It's........degrees (Fahrenheit, Centigrade/Celsius).

Online/Internet Activity

Go to www.weather.com

1. Find: Local weather...any city or US zip code...Click GO

2. Find the current weather

3. Write day, date, and weather on the board for the class.

Follow-up activities

1.Report and write the day, date, and weather on the board daily. Each student will have a turn to report the weather on a weekly basis.

2. Find the weather report for your country. Talk about the weather with a classmate:

How' s the weather in Medillin?
It's mostly cloudy.
What's the temperature in Medillin?
It's 76 F and 24C 3.

Find a weather report for a travel destination.
